ART COLLECTION & DISPLAYS

The art displays, which transform the Gorecki Alumni Center into a high-quality museum, were organized and installed by UND Art Collections, which was established in 2005 to function as the University’s “Living Art Museum Across the Campus and Beyond.” Now operating as a component of President Robert Kelley’s “Exceptional UND” initiatives, UND Art Collections provides better care and management for art owned by the University and the UND Foundation. The art selected for exhibition in the Gorecki Alumni Center includes works by world-renowned artists, such as Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Motherwell, Claes Oldenburg, and Audrey Flack as well as significant regional artists, such as Paul Barr, Emily Lunde, Walter Piehl, Jackie McElroy, and many others. Artworks by former UND Presidents are also exhibited along with outstanding exhibits of historic UND pottery and Native American art.
